MG Hector Tomahawk EV Launched 517km Range, 7 Seats and Premium Technology
JSW MG Motor India has officially launched the new MG Hector Tomahawk EV, bringing a large electric SUV with five- and seven-seat configurations to the Indian market. The new model is based on MG’s ADAPT architecture and is positioned above the existing Hector in the company’s SUV portfolio. With a claimed range of 517km, a large battery and a technology-loaded cabin, the Tomahawk EV is aimed at buyers looking for a spacious family electric SUV.
MG Hector Tomahawk EV Price In India
The MG Hector Tomahawk EV starts at Rs 19.49 Lakh ex-showroom under the regular purchase option. MG is also offering an introductory Battery-as-a-Service, or BaaS, plan that reduces the starting vehicle price to Rs 13.99 lakh, with battery rental charged separately at ₹4.90 per kilometre. These introductory prices are applicable to limited units.
The EV is available in Excite, Exclusive and Essence variants, with the five-seat layout offered on the top Essence trim while seven-seat configurations are available across the range.
69.2kWh Battery Pack
The biggest highlight of the Tomahawk EV is its 69.2kWh LFP battery pack. MG claims that the SUV can deliver a 517km MIDC range on a single charge. This combination makes the electric SUV suitable for both daily commuting and longer highway journeys, although actual range will depend on driving conditions, speed, weather and load.
Powerful Electric Motor
The Hector Tomahawk EV uses a single front-mounted electric motor producing around 201hp and 310Nm. MG claims a 0-100kmph acceleration time of approximately 8.2 seconds, giving the large SUV performance that should feel quick in everyday driving. The front-wheel-drive layout also keeps the mechanical package relatively straightforward.
Fast Charging Capability
Charging convenience is another important feature. The Tomahawk EV supports DC fast charging at up to 90kW, while MG claims that the battery can be charged from 30 to 80 percent in around 35 minutes using a compatible charger. The SUV also supports AC charging through a 7.4kW charger for overnight home charging.
Five and Seven-Seat Options
Unlike many electric SUVs, the Tomahawk EV offers buyers a choice between five- and seven-seat layouts. The seven-seat version provides three-row practicality for families, while the five-seat model focuses on passenger and luggage space. The five-seat version offers a claimed 610-litre boot, while the seven-seat model provides 192 litres with all three rows in use and up to 528 litres after folding the third row.
Premium Interior
The cabin receives a modern technology-focused treatment. One of its standout elements is a large 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment display. The SUV also gets digital instrumentation, i-SMART connectivity, voice-assistance functionality and a premium multi-speaker audio system. A panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats and wireless charging further enhance its premium appeal.
Advanced Safety Features
MG has equipped the Tomahawk EV with a strong safety package, including Level 2 ADAS technology. The system offers functions such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking and lane-related assistance. A 360-degree camera and six airbags are also part of the equipment package, depending on variant.
V2L And V2H Technology
The electric SUV also brings bidirectional power functionality. V2L technology allows the vehicle to supply electricity to compatible external equipment, while V2H can potentially allow the vehicle battery to provide power to a compatible home setup. These features give the Tomahawk EV additional usefulness beyond conventional transportation.

Conclusion
The MG Hector Tomahawk EV brings together a 69.2kWh battery, 517km claimed range, 201hp electric motor, seven-seat practicality and advanced connected technology. Its aggressive introductory pricing, particularly the BaaS option, gives MG an interesting proposition for family buyers considering a premium electric SUV.
