Tata Motors Sales August 2026 Strong Growth Continues With 67,753 Units
Tata Motors has delivered a strong sales performance in August 2026, with its passenger vehicle business recording 67,753 units across domestic and international markets. The figure represents a 56% year-on-year increase compared with 43,315 units sold during August 2025, highlighting the growing demand for Tata’s SUV, electric and multi-powertrain portfolio.
The company’s domestic passenger vehicle sales stood at 65,253 units, registering a significant 59% growth over the 41,001 units recorded in August 2025. This performance helped Tata Motors strengthen its position among India’s leading passenger vehicle manufacturers and maintain a comfortable gap over Mahindra in monthly domestic passenger vehicle volumes.
SUVs Continue To Drive Tata Performance
Tata Motors’ strong August numbers were supported by continued interest in its broad SUV lineup. Models such as the Nexon, Punch, Curvv, Harrier and Safari remain important products in the company’s portfolio, giving buyers options across different price points and segments.

The company sold 44,411 commercial vehicles across domestic and international markets, compared with 29,863 units during August 2025, representing 49% year-on-year growth.Domestic medium and heavy commercial vehicle sales also increased, reflecting stronger demand for goods transportation and mobility solutions.

The August sales performance comes as India's automotive industry enters the important festive season. Industry-wide passenger vehicle sales were estimated at around 4.5 lakh units during August, showing that consumer demand remained strong.
